MY FAVOURITE LANDSCAPES

MAKING ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS(roses) WITH ORGANDI CLOTH- PART 1

MATERIALS REQUIRED
Organdi cloth
– it’s a stiff cotton cloth. It is available in most of the cloth stores. Around half metre of this cloth can be used to make 4 flowers. Cost is around 15 Rs for half a metre
Plastic pollens – available in craft shop or shops which have beads, threads etc. they come in many different colors. A contrasting color to the flower petal color should be taken. For example, if you are buying red organdi cloth for petals, then white or yellow pollen will look good. Cost is around 5 Rs per piece.
Green tape – for covering stem. Also available in the crafts shop. Cost is around 10-20 Rs per piece.
Stem wire – 10 Rs per piece.

METHOD
First we need to cut paper templates which will be used to cut the cloth so that all the flowers are of the same size.
Three paper squares need to be cut.
1. large – 10 cm by 10 cm
2. medium – 8cm by 8cm
3. small – 6cm by 6cm

Now using the paper square templates cut the cloth. 3 pieces of the large size, 3 of medium size and 4 of the small size.

CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR CURTAINS WITHOUT SPENDING MUCH

Here is a very easy and inexpensive way of changing the look of your house by adding colors to the curtains.

You will require:
Measuring tape
Safety pins –around 7-8 for each curtain

“Dupattas” (which are worn with salvaar kameez). There are hundreds of colors available in the market. Choose the colors you like..keep in mind to buy length same as your curtains. Use measuring tape to measure your curtain length. You need one dupatta each for one curtain

For example, this is how my curtains look.

Now remove the curtain and start pinning the dupatta neatly with the safety pins to the top of the curtains.

All the safety pins are in place now.

Put the curtain back and see the difference..
One dupatta will cost only around 50-60 rupees as compared to buying a new curtain for 300-400 rupees. So it proves to be really inexpensive. What more, you can keep changing the colors whenever you wish to. For festive seasons you can also try doing the same technique with old saris.

Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

Amazingly artistic!!!!!! One art festival that has really touched my heart. If u are staying in mumbai then u shouldn't miss it..the first thing that caught my eye was the giant wheel with bycycles.. yes thats right.

After some steps was the puppet show..a crowd of enthusiastic children were waiting for it to start i guess..a big metallic figure distracted me then..it was a winged human megastructure..i am sure a lot of hard work must have been put in in making it..so hats off to all the people who created it.

The festival was filled with creativity..whether it was the large shoe made with tiny shoes or the shops filled with innumerate number of handicrafts..what really attracted me was the furniture shops with novel wall clocks and creative name plates..

To summarise, a festival worth going to.

Here are some paintings that i have done in recent times

BE CREATIVE

Isn't it amazing how our mind works..there is no doubt that nature is the most beautiful creation i have ever seen..and probably it inspires us to imagine....to dream..to widen the horizons of our abilities..to look beyond impossible and make it possible.

From schooltime itself i was inclined to creative arts. Even though today i am a dentist by profession i spend a lot of time making paintings, newspaper crafts, mehendi designs, sketching etc. Recently i did a mosaic look like abstract painting for my parent's house..oil paints on canvas.
i would love to share my thoughts with all the other bloggers.
